Starting therapy is a big decision. I like to let people know a little bit about my process so they can make an informed decision as to whether I might be a good fit for them. Here are the steps in my process:
The best way to contact me is through the email link on the Psychology Today Find a Therapist website. Through email we can set up a 15-20 minute informational ZOOM call where we can chat informally and help you decide if you think I would be a good fit for your needs.
If you decide to move forward with me after the informational call, some intake paperwork will need to be completed prior to our first formal appointment.
Right now I am accepting Private Pay, Medicare part B (with or without co-insurance), and "out-of-network" clients.
I cannot accept Medicaid right now. Medicaid does not allow providers to charge for missed appointments and this is the only reason I do not accept Medicaid. I do charge for missed appointments (without adequate notice), with an exception for illness and emergencies, of course.
Some insurance companies provide coverage for "out-of-network" providers. This means the insurance company is willing to reimburse the client for some portion of an "out-of-network" provider's fees. For clients who would like to pursue "out-of-network" reimbursement I can provide the necessary paperwork, however it is up to the client to confirm with their insurance company what the reimbursement policy is.
